We ran a successful traditional financial planning firm for 27 years, when we decided that the model didn't serve our clients well.  Commissions and fees based on the size of a client's account were how we were compensated, and we did our best to avoid any conflicts that model might present.   Even though we acted as a fiduciary and truly had the best interest of our clients prioritized at all times, it didn't always feel right. 

We stepped back and evaluated how we did things.  And we found that our greatest skill, and greatest joy was analyzing our clients' situations and providing objective and sound advice to our clients. That is what we love to do and what we excel at doing.

It also happens to be what we think best serves all clients.  We don't manage money, we don't provide investment advice, we don't sell any financial or insurance products.  We just provide quality, technical advice.  

We work with clients in all stages of their financial journeys. Clients with complicated situations love working with us because we have no ulterior motives.  They realize that we spend much more time actually analyzing their issues because there isn't a finish line that involves a sale.   Younger clients, those just starting out, are ignored by the traditional financial planners because they don't have any assets.  We love working with them and believe that obtaining sound advice before they have assets is probably the best way to actually accumulate assets.
